Authentic Karak Chai, Masala Chai & Pink Kashmiri Chai

At Chai Cart UK, our karak chai, masala chai, and pink Kashmiri chai aren’t trendy café drinks — they are slow-brewed, authentic recipes rooted in heritage, ritual, and family tradition. We use loose leaf tea, fresh spices, and no shortcuts to bring real chai culture to events across the UK.

Chai Is Not “Chai Tea” — It’s Heritage in a Cup

Chai is not a latte.
It’s not a syrup-based drink.
And it certainly isn’t “chai tea.”

Chai simply means tea — but culturally, it means so much more.

For me, chai is ritual, comfort, and heritage. Growing up, I watched my mum brew chai on cold winter mornings. The kitchen would fill with warmth before the day had even begun. There was no rush. Just patience, aroma, and family.

Now, as the founder of Chai Cart UK, I carry that same recipe forward — the one passed down from my mum and grandmother. When we serve chai at weddings, nikahs, and events, we aren’t just running a chai cart.

We are continuing a tradition.

Why We Created Chai Cart UK

When starting Chai Cart UK, we saw a clear gap.

People love authentic chai at home — so why wasn’t it being served properly at events?

There was market demand, yes. But more importantly, there was cultural demand. People wanted real karak chai, real masala chai, and authentic pink Kashmiri chai — not powdered mixes or overly sweet café versions.

So we asked ourselves:

Why not bring what we love at home to life at events?

That’s how Chai Cart UK was born.

Karak Chai – Bold, Strong & Unapologetic

Karak chai reminds me of tea in Dubai — strong, confident, and full-bodied.

At Chai Cart UK, our karak chai is brewed longer to deepen the flavour. We use loose leaf tea, not pre-made concentrates. The strength develops naturally through patience.

Karak chai isn’t meant to be mild.
It’s meant to wake you up.

If karak chai were a person, it would be bold and direct — the kind that walks into a room and owns it.

Masala Chai – Warm, Spiced & Comforting

Masala chai is layered warmth.

We make our own spice blend — something we would never compromise on. The spices are balanced carefully so no single flavour overpowers the other. This isn’t syrup-based masala chai. It’s brewed properly, allowing the spices to open up and deepen over time.

We also don’t add sugar as standard. At Chai Cart UK, sweetness is added only if requested by clients. That way, the true flavour of the tea and spices comes through first.

Masala chai is comfort in its purest form — the one you cradle in both hands during long conversations.

Pink Kashmiri Chai – Elegant, Unique & Authentic

Pink Kashmiri chai is always the conversation starter.

Its soft pink colour surprises people. Its slightly salty, nutty profile is unlike most teas in the UK. But that’s exactly why it’s special.

One of our biggest challenges was sourcing authentic Kashmiri tea leaves — we refused to take shortcuts. True pink Kashmiri chai requires patience, technique, and quality ingredients.

The first time we served it at a Nikah, the family tasted it and said: “This tastes like what we have back home.”

That moment confirmed everything.

Yes, some guests are surprised at first. But they come back for more.

Pink Kashmiri chai isn’t just a drink — it’s often served after family meals and gatherings. It symbolises celebration, hospitality, and connection.

What Makes Chai Cart UK Different?

There are many places serving “chai” — but here’s what makes Chai Cart UK stand out:

  • Loose leaf tea only

  • Brewed longer for deeper flavour

  • Homemade spice blends

  • No sugar added by default

  • Traditional brewing techniques including patience and aeration

  • Premium, fresh ingredients

  • Cultural storytelling behind every cup

We don’t believe in rushing chai.

Because when chai is rushed, you taste it.

More Than a Chai Cart — A Cultural Experience

At Chai Cart UK, we want every guest to feel:

  • Comfort

  • Curiosity

  • Cultural appreciation

  • A touch of luxury

  • Connection to family and memories

We love seeing guests compare Karak chai and Masala chai. We love explaining the story behind pink Kashmiri chai. We love when someone says, “This reminds me of home.”

That’s when we know we’ve done our job.

Because chai isn’t just a drink.

It’s identity.
It’s ritual.
It’s heritage — served beautifully from our chai cart.
